Mayes who married Mrs. Mary Hampton in May of 1854 in Pike Co. Illinois He is reported to be the son of William Mayes/____Dodson. William died before 1879 in Pike Co. I found a Gardner Wesley Mayes, born 1805 in TN and died 1867 in Pike County. Married to Elizabeth Gates. Date of her death is unknown. (I'd like to find that) Trying to connect this Gardner Wesley Mayes with Gardner/Gordon Mayes. Are they the same? Did he have 2 wives? Children by each marriage? Who? Found a George D. Mayes born May 21, 1835 in Barry, Pike Co. Died July 19, 1910, Barry, Il and buried Park Lawn Cemetary Married Melinda Booth. Is he Gardner Mayes' son? Any help will be gratfully appreciated.
