IL), Frid. Jan 25. 1884: "Mrs. Mary E. McClain, whose illness was noted in these columns last week passed away at her home, about 5 miles north of Barry, Saturday morning. Mrs. McClain was the relict of Hamilton McClain, well known to the early settlers of this county. She came to Illinois from Tennessee when quite young, and has since been a resident of the State, living for a number of years at the place of her death. She was in her 62nd year and was the mother of a family of grown children. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Kingston last Sunday.
