Dec. 14, 1884: "Mrs. A. B. Smith died at her home in this city last Tuesday after an illness of 3 weeks. Her ailment was an abcess. Mrs. Smith was daughter of James Low, Sr., of Pittsfield and was about 50 years of age. Her remains were taken to a cemetery near Pittsfield for burial." (note: I am not related to this person - only copied it for someone who is researching this family while I was researching my own family in Pike County. - Gerri).
