    3. Does anyone have access to any resources that would say if there was a Congregational Church in the Griggsville area in the 1850's - 1860's? In a letter from Lumin Curtiss to Henry Elisha Dean, written 2 February 1860 from Chester, Randolph County, IL, he says the following: "...You had mentioned the loss you had met with in the death of Mr. Winn... It seems that Death has made sad work in your town and neighborhood, since we left, no less than five members of the Congregational Church have died since left there, that we have heard of, and how many of acquaintances, in the other Churches, we know not." Are there church records available from that time period? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Lise Embley
