Thats true but I want to tell you if they had not dynamted the the damn near Hull all the transverse levees would have collapsed and Rocport, Pl. Hill , and New Canton would have been flooded. Transverse levees are the ones that don't run next to the river but rather toward the bluffs every so many miles. When Hull was flooded they had to go to the bottom of what was left of the levee and dynamite it so the pressure would lessen on the transverse levee between New Canton and Hull. They said if that broke everything was down hill from there and that included. Stark brothers nursery in Atlas, Rockport, and Pl. Hill.
