My great Grandfather had a farm on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River right across from Louisiana it was noted to be the first place as you crossed the bridge, I have been told he had to plant crops some times three time in a season just to get corn for his team. He also made his living boarding horses for people who were taking the ferry across to Missouri, His name was Henry Brunaugh and after the bridge was built they really had a hard way Togo. what was his place is now supposed to be a Marina and restaurant if any one is from up three maybe they no it.
