The list has been very quite lately and with the cooler weather upon us, keeping us inside for more research time on the computer, it feels like a good time to get back to our search. We haven't had a roll call in quite some time so lets get our names out there once again and make some connections. Please follow these simple guidelines: List your surname(s) in the subject line instead of writing 'roll call'. This makes it easier for those with no interest or information to skip that particular mail. Simply listing surnames gets a poor reception. Therefore, when listing your names, provide as much information as possible, such as first name, township, time period, came from, moved to, born at..on, died at..on, etc. Do NOT send in your entire gedcom file. Please limit yourself to a maximum of four (4) surnames per email. Any more than that and it becomes very cumbersome to read and find connections. Keep it limited to names with a definitive connection to Pike County Illinois. Finally, remember the list is set to reply to the original author of the message and not the list. My Lytle / Lightle family came to Pike County in the 1830's. James and Jane (Bartlett) Lytle brought with them their children consisting of Andrew, John, James, Thomas, Hugh and George. Jane died 23 Mar 1868 and is buried in Bethel Cemetery along near her sons, Thomas and George. James should be buried there as well but there is no marker for him. My Kesterson came to Pike prior to 1850. Brothers Peter & William left Graves Co KY with their families along with a sister Mary Ann Ware (Kesterson) Cadwell and a sister in law Nancy (Cadwell) Kesterson whose husband had died in KY. Peter is buried at Bethel along with one of his sons Jeremiah Kesterson & Family. It was William Kesterson's daughter Matilda Kesterson who married Jeremiah Lytle. My Kesterson website is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bandy/kest.html My Lytle/Lightle website is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bandy/lytle.html I am also the County Co-ordinator for Genealogy Trails Pike county http://genealogytrails.com/ill/pike/ So I'm not only interested in finding my own cousins -- I'm looking for all of your's as well.
