Homer Brown. Asa Warren Cox, son of Jonthan and Mary Gooud Cox was born near Pittsfield on April 10, 1875 and passed away at Illini hospital on Sept. 7, 1945, at the age of 70 years. He was one of a family of four children, of whom one sister, Mrs. Julia Cooper of Pittsfield survives. The other two one brother, Harry and a sister, Minnie preceded him in death. He was converted many years ago at the Old Liberty church and confessed his Lord, becoming a church member and Christian at the old church. He never married. Surviving are his sister and two nephews and two nieces, together with a host of friends who are sorry to learn of his passing. For the past two years he has lived in the home of his niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Deemer, who have done for him everything they could do.
