Years ago I asked Virginia for help and she was far to kind to me by the extend in which she helped me. I feel that she must be very elderly, which means she might be experiencing memory problems or any other difficulties that happens to older people. I feel it would be best to leave the lady alone and just not mail her anymore money. The money being such a small sum that I would hate to think a person would cause her a lot of needless problems, when she has always been much a good helper to so many people for such a long time. I joined the Pike/Calhoun Society in the early 90's when I lived in Arkansas.Virginia helped me quite a bit. It's true that I only received 2 newsletters in all the time I was a member, but I did talk to her often on the phone. After that I just stopped sending dues.I believe her to be a good person and I even offered to help her after I moved back here in 95.That was my last contact with her. So are there any cemetery lists for Calhoun? I've just found, thanks to a kind lady on this site, that my ancestor Hance Johnson, who had deserted a family in Pike later, ca l880, was in Calhoun with a second family. I'd like to find where he was buried.

Virginia was a great help to me back in the 1980's. She came in and help me at the courthouse. And later found some files that were supposedly lost. I took the newsletter until her mother was sick and then dropped it when it became irregular and the internet was picking up steam (1995). She tried to keep the newsletter up but I think everything bacame too much. Those 4 or 6 pages, were a wealth of information and interesting. Please leave her alone and let get off the subject. Thank you. Joan Black Lund jblgene@sbcglobal.net http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~joanlund/
