Feb. 21, 1939 afternoon for one of Barry's older residents, Mrs. Hannah Greene, who d. at her home on Bainbridge st. at noon Sunday, Feb. 19. Mrs. G. was 89 yrs old at the time of her death and had been a resident of Barry since she was 16 yrs old. The rites were held at the Keller-Lock Funeral home with Rev. T. Elmer Jones of Canton, Mo., and Rev. A.C. Davis in charge of the service. Mrs. T.Elmer Jones, Fred Davis & Burl Wike had charge of the music. Burial was made in the Barry cemetery. Mrs. G. was born at Swanton, Vermont, Sep. 23, 1849. She was the dau. of Calvin & Eliza Brown Tilton and came to Barry at the age of 16. She was md. to J.M. Greene who preceded her in death Feb. 21, 1920. To this union two daughters were born, Gretta & Della. She also reared a stepdaughter, Nora, and a nephew, Elmo Goodale. The latter was the son of a sister, Mary Goodale, and was taken into th! e Greene home at the age ofd 20 months. Mrs. G. was a member of the Baptist church, uniting under the pastorate of Rev. J. Brainard Brown. Surviving are her two daughters, Gretta E. Wike & Della M. Hays and a grdaughter, Bernadine Hays, of Barry; a stepdaughter, Nora Taylor of Indianapolis, Ind., and a nephew, Elmo Goodale of Urbana, Ill.
