Aug. 29, 1890, Maria Antoinette DeHaven was born in Erie, Penn. Dec. 18, 1836, and died in Barry, Ill., Aug. 20, 1890. She was united in holy wedlock to N.E. Thornton, Jan. 2, 1866, with whom she lived happily until their separation by death. Mrs. Thornton was converted under the ministry of Rev. J.W. Sinnock in 1868 and united with the M.E. church of this place. Twenty-two beautiful years have thus been spent in the service of the Master, as her life will testify. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Chas. Baughman at the M.E. church, Fri., Aug. 22."
