    2. The courthouse in Pittsfield also has some probate records. I copied all of the records in my great, great grandmother's probate file. It is across the hall from the births, deaths & marriages. Ask the ladies there. They will tell you. They are really great. I don't remember the Barry library hours either but they are not every day. You will need to call them. I found all of my father's ancestors obits in the Barry Adage paper on microfilm there. The lady there was really helpful. They also have a list of who is buried in the Barry cemeteries. I found everyone and took pictures of the stones. Enjoy your trip to Pike Co. I have always enjoyed my time there. 3. I found I have a copy of "With the Colors from Pike County", a book published by the Barry Record to honor everyone who served in World War One from Pike County. My aunt created an index of all the names. If there is interest, I can scan the index and create a pdf file. If anyone knows they had a Pike County ancestor who served in the Great War, I'd be glad to send you a jpg of the page he/she is on. 3. I don't know where you want to research, but I live at Pittsfield, IL, which is the county seat, and the court house would be the first place I would want to research, unless you want something earlier than what they have. The court house is located in the center of Pittsfield business district, if you come in on US highway 54 it will take you right by the court house. They are open from 8 to 4 or 4:30 Monday through Friday. The county clerk's office has births, deaths, marriage licenses. You can't look at those that have a social security number. Also, there is only so much that you can see on births. The library has a lot of books, censuses, (some of the census are in book form) they also have a computer that I think that you can use. The library is one block from the square where the court house is. It is one block west of the northwest corner of the square. I think that I can tell you what hours they are open. Not open on Sunday. Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues., Wed. Thurs. open from one to 8 p.m. Fri--open from one to 5--I think this is correct, but could be open longer. Sat. Open from 9 to 3. There is a good library in Barry, IL (In Pike County), but I do not know their hours. They have a lot for us that are looking for some of our ancestors. The library phone number is 217-285-2200. The court house also have phones if you are interested.
