You do not say where you have looked for marriage licenses nor do you give their full names. Where did you look? Pike County, IL? I have found that a lot of the ones from as far as Scott County, IL went to Bowling Green, Mo to get married. At that time they could go by train. Did you look at Palmyra, Mo? Some even went from Pike County, IL to Keokuk Iowa and Ft. Madison, Iowa. I have looked in my books for Brown County, IL, but that is all. I live in Pike County, IL. longlong85@pikenet.net

My family line is Martin Van Buren Daniels, born Apr 1840 in Pike Co. Civil War Vet. Married Matilda Jane Smith Aug 1861 in Nebo. They lived around the Canton area most of their lives. Martin died 1897 and Jane M. as she was called died in 1902 in Pike Co. I think. One of their children, Charles M. Daniels is my great grandfather. I cannot locate a place of burial for Jane M. (or Matilda Jane) Daniels. Appreaiate any clues. Doug
Pulliam sisters Susannah and Lucy both married Pike County men and are buried here. They are my great grandmothers along with their siblings intermarriages into the Hinch/Hull lines. My Lytle / Lightle family came to Pike County in the 1830's. James and Jane (Bartlett) Lytle brought with them their children consisting of Andrew, John, James, Thomas, Hugh and George. Jane died 23 Mar 1868 and is buried in Bethel Cemetery along near her sons, Thomas and George. James should be buried there as well but there is no marker for him. My Kesterson came to Pike prior to 1850. Brothers Peter & William left Graves Co KY with their families along with a sister Mary Ann Ware (Kesterson) Cadwell and a sister in law Nancy (Cadwell) Kesterson whose husband had died in KY. Peter is buried at Bethel along with one of his sons Jeremiah Kesterson & Family. It was William Kesterson's daughter Matilda Kesterson who married Jeremiah Lytle. They are the parents of seven children, Mrs. Robert (Charis) Strubinger and Mrs. Bill (Carol) Chaplin, both of Kinderhook; Galen Saxbury of Hannibal, Mo.; Kent Saxbury of New Canton; Bill Saxbury of Versailles; Jan Saxbury of Rushville; and Mrs. Roger (Dawn) Landers of Vandalia, Mo. There are 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Can anyone tell me if there is a town called Cessna Park in Pike County? An obit that I have says a relative died in Cessna Park, Illinois, and I believe it is in Pike county. Thanks for any help. best, Paul
