My 2 cents, your right its for genealogy, but I sure hope some of you never need to be on that prayer list. Tammy
Gene Maddox. By any chance is your Maddox line also from Illinois? I've hit a dead end with mine in Henry County and Kansas. Holly Ann Burt (or just Holly!) umschab@ptsi.net http://www.ptsi.net/user/umschab/ =^..^=
I'm afraid I'm also in agreement, although I will pray for her. I already receive 20 to 30 e-mails a day, mostly genealogy, and that's enough for me. Holly Ann Burt (or just Holly!) umschab@ptsi.net http://www.ptsi.net/user/umschab/ =^..^=
Kathy, I totally agree with your view. This is a genealogy site and should be used as such. Gene
Kathy, I agree with you whole heartedly. We receive enough of them through regular email without having it come to us this way. I look on the List as a way to learn about our ancestors and some of their history. I don't wish any of these people on these pray lists bad but there is a place for them and it's not here. Just my opinion. Nancy
Hello, If we allow the prayer chains (see below) to be put on this web site, they will take over. We all get them through e-mail. What would it be like if all of us sent them here? Please, let's keep this about genealogy. Tom, I am going to send this to the list, just in case someone else is searching the Dean surname. Thanks for sending it. BOOK WANTED---- 'History of Pike County Illinois' by Charles Chapman. I'm interested in buying a copy of this book. Thanks!
Deb, There are a couple ways to get a copy of this book. The Pike County Historical Society, or Casteels in Pittsfield. Casteels will not mail it to you. The society is slow in getting orders out, but they will mail it. Contact Barbara Gay who is treas. at jimgay@adams.net and see what she can do for you. You might try your nearest good sized library to see if they have a copy you can check out. I know the one in Denver has it. I love the book.
