I have a portion of the 1830 Pike Co. Plat Map. It's too big for me to scan. I was gifted with this portion, and since found out it came from a Kansas City, MO Library. I only got the portion dealing with my ALLENS. And, somehow, want to put this on the Pike Site. Any suggestions of who I could snail mail this to???? Peg Spencer

Imo of Alice Texas... We have both Humphreys and Umphreys here in Schuyler County Illinois, some of whom migrated into Ralls and Pike County Missouri - a few of them got scattered in between; maybe your Pike County Illinois too, just across the river from Pike County Missouri. The genealogy section of the Jail Museum in Rushville, in Schuyler County, has extensive family histories that include both spellings. Myself, I have primarily Umphreys, with a few Humphrey spellings in the same family, circa 1850. Glen Umphreys of Macomb Illinois has considerable Humphrey/ Umphrey data. he can be reached a 309-836-9362, or he or myself through/at the Museum, or this e-mail address. Greenpond is between Detroit and Pearl or Milton and Pearl. It is directly in the middle of nowhere near an old town called midtown. It is a beautiful well kept cemetery, about 1/4 mile off the highway.
