CJS, Do you have Nellie Blanche READ who married Arthur FIX in 1904, probably in KS? Vanette Hobbs Hamilton
Jerry, thanks for your efforts. I know that they should be there somewhere as some still live there now. Maybe the other volumes have some Deeder people listed. Anyone have the other volumes? Would appreciate the help. Ken Schroeder
Searching for Rezin Reel who married Mary L Mallory in Pike. Related to M.A. Reel who married Mrs. Jane Read in Pike. Are they related to my ancestor Nicolas Reel who's child Lewi C. I have recently subscribed to this list, and notice some of you have referred to an index of some sort - don't know whether it would help with my family, but I need to post my information anyway, in case anyone out there has any info on my family of AYERS/AYRES. I found the following in 1860 Pike Co census, known brothers who were next-door neighbors: James AYRES, age 32, b-OH - claims $3000 real estate + Margaret, age 20, b-OH Mary, age 3, b-IL Rosa, age 1, b-IL Solomon AYRES, age 38, b-OH - occupation Wagon Maker + Martha, age 36, b-KY Sarah, age 16, b-IL William, age 13, b-IL Ellen, age 8, b-IL Thomas, age 4, b-IL Mary, age 74, b-VA These families moved to Texas before the 1870 census, probably with family by surname NEELEY. I've found possible maiden names for the wives (Margaret and Martha) from the Illinois Marriage records online. Also, owing to the age difference, there are probably siblings to James and Solomon - I intend to extract census data for all AYERS/AYRES living in Pike Co 1860 for possibilities. Other than that, I really don't know where to start finding information for these families in Illinois and beyond. Suggestions? All help is very much appreciated. Sharon
