    1. [ILPIKE] CAMPBELL/FERGUSON
    2. Andy or Annie Utick
    3. We have a mystery concerning some Campbell children living with a Ferguson family as of the 1850 Pike Co., IL federal census. Following are the particulars: Henry FERGUSON m. Mary "Polly" BRISCOE April 8, 1816 in Washington Co., KY. Between 1835 and 1850, they moved to Pike Co., IL. In the 1850 Pike Co., IL census, they have living with them, in addition to their own children, the following Campbell children: Ann Campbell, age 15, b. KY Polly Campbell, age 12, b. IL Susan Campbell, age 10, b. IL We are wondering if these might be children of a sister of Henry FERGUSON's, who m. a CAMPBELL, possibly in KY. Can anyone help with this puzzle? We do not know who the siblings of Henry FERGUSON were, so can't name any of his sisters. We are fairly certain that these CAMPBELL children are not from Mary "Polly" BRISCOE's side of the family, because we know of her siblings, and do not have any sisters of Polly's who m. a CAMPBELL. Of course, it is possible that Polly Briscoe Ferguson had a sister we don't know of, but it is *more* likely that these CAMPBELL girls are from the FERGUSON side of the family. We have the following info. that may be about this Ann Campbell: An Ann Campbell m. a Jabez Sickler (should most likely be Sickles) in Pike Co. on Aug. 7, 1859. A Jabez Sickles is also listed in the Pike Co. m. records as marrying Welthy Ann Butler Nov. 5, 1857. An Ann Sickles is buried in Wells Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, died Sept. 1866, aged 32 years, 9 months, 17 days, wife of J. R. There is a Jabez R. Sickles, Illinois Civil War Veterans Data Base, Rank REC, 19 IL US INF, Residence Pleasant Hill. The following may be about this Susan Campbell: A Susan F. Campbell is listed in the IL Marriage Index, McDonough County (where some of the Fergusons relocated) married a Tolbert Jaggard, Feb. 14, 1859. Nothing yet about Polly Campbell, but we wonder whether she might actually have been named Mary Campbell. If anyone could shed any light on any of this, we would very much apprciate the help. A. Utick (Montana)

    3. Hi Barbara; Kinderhook cemeteries: I'm still looking for the grave sites of Joseph Card and wife (maybe Frances) and Elijah Humphrey, Joseph died May 16, 1847 near Kinderhook , also Elijah Humphrey died near Kinderhook, 1844. 1. Re: [ILPIKE] Morey & Brown Cemeteries
    2. Hi Pat, You may let the list know who you are looking for so someone can get it for you on their next visit. It is a 2.5 hour drive each way for me and I don't get up that way too often so the chances of me making it to Pittsfield West any time soon is rather remote. Again, I would like to urge all who visit Pike Co cemeteries to take a notepad and pen and copy down a few extra stones. This would be a great help to researchers who live too far away to visit in person. I also took a few pictures of Morey & Brown and will be placing them with the listings once I finish this roll of film. 1. [ILPIKE] Morey & Brown Cemeteries
    2. I transcribed all the headstones in Morey & Brown Cemetery, Pleasant Vale Twp a few weeks ago and will begin placing them in a table this week to place on the site. I need someone who has the cemetery books that covers these two cemeteries who is willing to compare what I transcribed with the entries found in the books so the listings will be as accurate as possible. While the stones at Brown cemetery are in good shape most of the stones at Morey are in very poor if not entirely unreadable condition and while we could make some guesses on the names, deciphering some of the dates was nearly impossible. Please let me know if you can proof my entries. I will also be going back to Kinderhook this weekend and thought I would try to transcribe some from Old Kinderhook and New Kinderhook cemeteries. I know the size of the New Kinderhook cemetery as my grandmother is buried there - can actually see the cemetery from my grandfathers house - but does anyone know how big the Old Kinderhook cemetery is?
