Nov. 24, 1883: After a pleasant visit among friends of three weeks duration, we shook the dust off our feet, or rather the mud and turned our faces homeward. We had for traveling companions, Mr. & Mrs. Mahlon Bill, who were coming to Laddonia to visit their daughter, Mrs. Will Rippey, also the noted lady lawyer, Miss Phoebe Cousins. It was our first meeting with the distinguished lady and we found her to be affable and entertaining, and best of all, a womanly woman. Time makes great changes in a short time and since my departure for Barry two houses have been made desolate by the loss of wife and mother."

    3. Thanks for the change info, I had to do the same thing but maybe we won't have to worry any more before long abt sending message as the Gov is proposing to give the PO 5 cents a email ( for nothing,) everyone send out from their computor. Watch for a message. Ref to so. We must stop this. What a Rip off for all. The server's won't like the decrease in E mail nor the disconneting of it's subscriber's as I will be one of them and many more as won't be able to pay for them plus pay for server service thus makeing it prohibiting to be connected to net. Surnames: Noyer, Hull Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kg.2ADI/1018.3.6 Message Board Post: Nancy, I have been researching the NOYER line. You may already have the following information Malinda E. Noyer was born 17 June 1858 Clackamas County Oregon to Peter S.Noyer and Delilah C.(May) Noyer. She was their eldest child. The following is Malinda's fathers obit: Thurdsay Dec 17, 1925 PETER S. NOYER Peter S. Noyer died at his home in Molalla on Friday night after an illness of several Days. He had been ailing for about six months with leakage of the heart. Mr. Noyer was a pioneer of this section and was identified with many phases of public life for over a half century. He was born in Richland county, Ohio, October 19, 1837. At an early age he moved to Texas with his parents. When sixteen years of age he came to the Pacific Coast by the Nicaragua route across the isthmus of Panama. He landed in San Franscisco on May 24, 1853. Two years later he came to Portland. Between the years of "83 and "89 he was in the mechantile business in Molalla. He purchased the Stubbs store where the Odd Fellows building now stands. He afterward built a store on the site now occupied by the Mastérton Garage. While there--Mrs. Noyer was postmistress for a time. After experience in stock raising in Umitilla county he returned to this section. He farmed on the Dickey Prairie. For the past fifteen years he has been living in Portland or vicinity. Recently he sold his place at Clackamas and moved to Molalla where he expected to spend his declining years enjoying the association of his early life. Mr. Noyer was a democrat in politics and had the honor of serving Clackamas county for three terms in the state legislature. This was for the years 1874, '82 and '86. His widow Delilah C. May has been continual help mate throughout his long career. They were married on May 8, 1857. To this union were born six chldren. Besides his widow he is survived by four children: Mrs. Nancy Engle and Mrs. Cortna N Joslin, of Molalla, Mr. N Boon Noyer, and Mrs. Birdia A. Steel of portland. He had many grandchildren and great grand children and one great-great grand son. One brother B.F. Noyer, of Bridge Oregon. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D.F. Mortemore, Christian pastor of Gladstone at the Church of Christ, Molalla on Monday. Mr. Noyer was probably the oldest member of the Mason lodge in Oregton City where he had held his membership since his initiation fifty two years ago. This lodge, Multomah No. one is the first Masonic lodge organized on the Pacific coast. The lodge had charge of the services at the grave. Interment was in the Adams cemetery. (Molalla Pioneer, Molalla, OR. Pg 1 Vol 13 no.42) Malinda first married Alson Steers and had 3 children (b 1876, 1878, 1879). She then married 17 Oct 1881 Wasco Co, OR to John Hull. They had 2 girls and 2 boys. Malinda and John Divorced in 1897 and Malinda died the following years 29 May 1898 Clackamas County, OR. She is buried in Viola-Viola Cemetery-Clackamas County, OR. I would be interested in any further information you might have on this couple. Kathie

    3. This appeared in our newspaper today and sending it in case anyone missed reading about it. I went to the site and it is very hard to bring up and I imagine because of the information released today. Buried veterans records on the Web. The VA has made available 3.2 million records. VA has made it easier and faster for the public to get answers about family history, old war buddies or famous war heroes. The agency put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The web site is www.cem.va.gov. The VA's Nationwide Gravesite Locator also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery since 1999. These records used to be on paper and microfilm.

IL, Thursday, February 14, 1901: "Little Edward Albert, son of William and Ellen Woodward, died February 10, aged 2 years and 5 months. His was a very untimely death. He arose happy and well Sunday morning, but sometime during the forenoon he opened a drawer and found some medicine used by his grandfather and ate about fifteen tablets. Medical assistance was sent for immediately, but the tablets had done their deadly work, and dispite all that Doctors Beavers and Kaylor could do for him he passed away about 3:30 p.m. He was a bright and healthy child and the parents are heartbroken with grief. The funeral services were conducted from the family residence by W.M. Halley, Monday, Feb. 11, at 3:30 p.m. after which interment was made in the Watson cemetery." __ On the same page: Heart Tablets Cause the Little One's Death - A very sad death occurred in the family of Mr. Will Woodward, who lives north of this city, on Sunday last. Mr. Woodward's father has been using heart tablets, and on Sunday afternoon Will Woodward's baby boy, about 3 years old, got hold of the box in which the heart tablets were kept. The tablets were sugar-coated, and the little boy had eaten quite a number of them before the fact was discovered, probably believing they were candy. __
