    3. Annette, I have very little info on Isaac and Matilda's children and grandchildren, only that they had two children,William and Margaret. So I'm so happy to have the wonderful info you sent. Where did you obtain the genealogy book by Harry B. Zabriskie. Is it obtainable? I would die to have a copy. All the Daniels mentioned are from my line. Yes I know the McEvers were neighbors of the Daniels and that Mary Jane Stout was married to a James M. Daniels who is a brother of my gg grandfather William H. Daniels. She was his 5th wife and they both died within a week of each other! I thank you for everything you sent me. Betty

    3. Betty, I'm not a direct descendant of Eunice and William. I will look through my large Knapp notebook and see where I got the information. It could very well have been from my grandmother...since she had pictures. My great grandmother Sarah Ann Knapp Goings, whom I remember, was a sister to Eunice. When I was young, I remember my grandmother talking about Aunt Eunice. The Knapps lived in Scott County...but many of the family came and went to Pike Co. I have a published genealogy book entitled " James McEvers 1755-1829 Abraham Knapp, Jr 1759-1809" by Harry B. Zabriskie. In the index are found a Isaac, a James, a James M, a Thomas and a William....all Daniels. *A Robert Mcevers of Pike Co died in 1871 in the home of Isaac Daniels in Scott Co. This was in a McEver's Bible. * A George married a Mary Jane Stout in 1844...Geo died and then she married a James Daniels in Scott Co. in 1872. A couple more entries that I will give you later if you want. Seems that the Daniels were very involved with the McEvers family...if they are the same Daniels family ?? In this book Zabriskie mentions only Eunice's marriage to a Henry Tankersley in 1882. He doesn't mention the Daniels marriage. I also have several tintypes of Eunice and the Knapp family in early years...also a very interesting large scroll panoramic photo taken at a Knapp reunion in (I believe) 1923. On the information that I provided....was it correct in regard to the Wigel surname? I'm sorry that I don't have any more info on Isaac. 3. Doug, It doesnt look like we can connect . I can't remember for sure where I got this lady's phone number but it might have been out of the Pittsfield ,IL. phonebook. I called her and she said she was a decendent of Martin Van Buren Daniels and that we were not from the same line. My Isaac's Father was James Daniels from New York who came to Pike Co. in1826. He was one of the early settlers along with a David Daniels who came to Pile Co in 1840. Good luck with your search. Betty

    3. In the preceeding email posted by me, I included some information of Daniels. I do not have documentation and at the moment can't remember where I received this information - possibly from my grandmother who left handwritten family history ..my grandmother was daughter of a GOINGS and grandaughter of KNAPP. HOLFORD and a GOINGS married...Bill Owens-Smith and I corresponded aboout the Holford and Goings connection a while back. Of the many old photo albums that my grandmother passed down to me, I have a picture of a man, wife and children marked William Daniels and Eunice Knapp. I have another picture of a little girl inscribed Olive Daniels. I can share. Annette

    3. Hi Betty. I'm trying to figure out if your Isaac is in my Daniels line somewhere. I am sure there were at least two large Daniels families in Pike Co. in the 1840 and later timeframe. I only know my gggrandfather Martin Van Buren Daniels was born in 1838 in IL and his father was James Daniels born 1805 in KY. Believe they arrived in IL around 1833 or there abouts. Can you tell if our two lines connected from this little bit? 3. Hi Bill. I was glad to receive the info you sent. I have very little as I haven't been looking very long. I think when I get stuck, like on Matilda Jane, I should drop it and move on and come back to her later. I didn't do that and I have been looking for her burial place and death date for a long time. She was in Poplar Bluff in the 1900 census but I'm sure she returned to Pike Co. sometime later as all of her family is in Pike and Madison Co.'s. I have not ran across your Holford name that I remember but will keep an eye out for it. Haven't gone to Pike as yet but plan on it soon. Thanks for the info and should you find any more I'd be appreciative to receive a heads up. Do you think the connection between the Smith's and the Holfords is located in Wis or somewhere in NY? I may come up with a date of death in the pension files. Guess I should order his military and pension files. Thanks again for the clues. Have a good day.
