I have received this message from a fellow County Coordinator for Illinois. If you can help with the transcription please contact me and I will forward your name on. Please realize we will need snail mail addresses to forward copies of the transcriptions. Today Carol Spenader (visiting from Florida) and I were at the Belleville library and were talking to a genealogy guy also visiting there who asked if we knew of someone that could help him with some typing. I volunteered to post an email to your List but thought I'd check with you first to see if you knew of someone who might help him or had a better idea. We didn't think to ask if he'd do look-ups in the meantime - naturally it's not alphabetized yet. He's had a computer just for a few months so is still learning how to do email (he says). I was thinking of sending something like the following: Harold Fiebig and his wife, genealogists from Belleville, have gone through the Duquoin Tribune microfilm and written in very legible long hand the information to locate obits in the newspaper. Each line includes name, age, maiden name, and the date/page/column of the newspaper. They have asked for help in typing this information into simple columnar format for printing into a booklet and for putting onto the Perry web page. If you can help him, please contact him at [email protected] Dorothy and Carol http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilclint2/
