My Silas Thomas Gaither b abt 1832 Bedford Co TN married Mary Marinda Clark in Harrisburg, Saline Co IL 31 Jan 1856. He was son of Dr Abner Gaither & Nancy Squires Gaither. Abner died in great Cholera Epidemic in Shelbyville, TN. when he was age 33, no record of Nancy after that so must have so died also. Silas & bro Ebb, young children sent back to KY with grandparents when Cholera outbreak hit the area. Abner as a doctor stayed on to treat the sick and dying, until he got it himself and records kept by minister who said prayer over dozens at a time had him listed in his record book. Silas T & Rinda( nick name) then must have moved to Perry Co. because that is where there 2 oldest sons were born 1856 & 1858. James Monroe Gaither b 16 Dec 1856 Perry Co.IL m Laura M Sullivan 30 Dec 1875. Christopher Columbus Gaither b 4 May 1858 m Isabel Adams then 2nd Mary Jane Summers 8 Feb 1883. Silas Thomas volunteered 40th Calvary IL. Co. F in the Civil War while living in Perry Co, he died 1 Sep 1862 in Memphis TN, age 26. Mary Marinda Clark Gaither was expecting there 3rd son in about a month when he died. "Rinda" was dau. of James Jordon Clark & Elizabeth Brewer Clark. I would like to hear from anyone researching the Clark family also. John Riley Gaither b 6 Oct 1862 Franklin Co Il, where I assume Rinda moved to be near her parents in Akin area since a child was due in a month. She was killed in the 1925 tornado and buried at Mt Etna Cem Akin, FCI. Any information or records on any of the above certainly appreciated.
