TThey came to Perry County because Frederick was recruited to help build the Red Onion mine in Southern Illinois. Does anyone have information on this mine? Frederick (1836-1915) and Mary (1839-1908) had eight children: l. Henry SPRENGER (1861-1935) m. Emma TEERGARTEN. They resided in Cincinnati, OH. 2. Clara SPRENGER (1863 - 1954) m. Jacob "Doc" MILLER, son of Ephraim and Mildred (GEORGE) MILLER. 3. Fredrick C. SPRENGER (1865 - 1940) m. Mary BUNGE. 4. William SPRENGER (1869 - 1958). 5. Edward L. SPRENGER (1873 - 1959) m. Anna WAISATH. 6. Louisa Elizabeth Katherine SPRENGER (1875 - 1969) m. Alvin CROSS, son of Joshua and Nancy Ann (HUTCHINGS) CROSS. 7. August (1878 - 1918) m. Jennifer ROSE. 8. Infant daughter who died. Frederick C. and Edward L. SPRENGER were major stockholders in the Farmer's State Bank until the bank closed during the Great Depression. I have quite a bit of info and some pictures of the SPRENGERs. I am willing to share my info and always seeking more. Is anyone else researching this family?
