I have alot of Mail lists some work fine like this one but I need to do some Guidelines. This is to help you have productive postings.Some of you who have been on this mail lists for well who knows and this message will help those who are new subscribers. This is the summary of the Perry Co IL Mail List , There are 129 subscribers to ILPERRY-L and 19 subscribers to ILPERRY-D. I have also added what I think are guidelines for the list, if you have suggestions or feel these are strict email me at: ILPerry-admin@rootsweb.com Guidelines for Montgomery Co IL Mail list 1.The word "ROLL CALL" is not to be used for Subject line: Use Who, What, Where, When. Email the Perry Co IL administrator at ILPerry-admin@rootsweb.com to discuss Roll Calls do not discuss it on the list, it just takes up space on the server. Who is going to go thru 150 roll Call subject lines , I won't. 2.VIRUS WARNIGS: Do not send Virus Warnings to the Perry Co IL Mail List no exception here. 3.Subject line will not be generic such as "lookup" "Marriage Lookup" "Census Lookup" there are better subjects such as: John Casey/Perry Co IL/Census Lookup/1840 key to productive query is Who, What , When and Where. 4. When replying to a message do not add the previous message to it , delete it or take the part of the message and paste into your message for reference. Saves server space. 5.Perry Co IL must be in the text of your message, the mail list is for Perry Co IL is a genealogy mail list and the subject should be Perry Co IL genealogy. 6. NO FLAMING the list administrator will not tolerate it you will be unsubscribed. 7. THANK YOU"S to the List should be done privately to the person who helped you not the list. Thank you's are important and should be done but not to the list. Good examples of a subject line: Col. Silas Toler/Civil War Lookup/Perry Co IL Okay someone needs a Civil War lookup on Col. Silas Toler in Perry Co IL same would go for census lookup , William Tripp/Census Lookup/Perry Co IL/1840 As you can see I am trying to help you have a productive posting to the Perry Co IL mail list.
