In Perry Co., IL I am researching: Harmon P. STANTON b. 1833 NY (?) d 1889 Pinckneyville, Perry Co., IL Harmon md. Emaline WATKINS on 31 Dec 1861 in Pinckneyville, IL. Emalline is the d/o Samuel And Elizabeth M. HAMILTON WATKINS Samuel WATKINS was b. abt 1820 in Wayne Co., IL and moved to Perry Co after marrying Elizabeth. Elizabeth was b. abt 1820 in White Co., IL. Samuel md 2nd time to Agnes McCullogh on 30 Dec 1857 in Perry Co. after Elizabeths death. He was killed in the Civil War on 17 Feb 1862 at Ft. Donelson, TN. Agnes was md. to James Alexander CAMPBELL and possibly a man named DEEM, as she had a son named James DEEM. After Samuel's death she md. Urias. PASKIL. I have been able to collect a lot of information on Samuel WATKINS but very little on Harmon P. STANTON before 1850 when he came to Pinckneyville, Perry Co., IL.Harmon is my Great Grandfather.
