He married Sarah Jane CROOKE in Madison Co., KY and they had nine children: 1. Daniel CROSS b. 1820 in Madison Co., KY; d. Feb 15, 1900 in Perry County. 2. Alvin CROSS b. Jan 26, 1822 in TN; married Sophronia Anne MARLOW, dau of Carter and Seletta (BRYANT) MARLOW; d. Aug 28, 1858 in Perry Co. 3. Joshua CROSS b. 1824 in TN; m. Nancy Ann HUTCHINGS, dau of John Randolph and Delilah (JONES) HUTCHINGS; d. Mar 26, 1897. 4. Zachariah CROSS b. April 1829 in TN; m. Harriet Matilda MARLOW, dau of Carter and Seletta (BRYANT) MARLOW; after Harriet's death m. Margaret W. TAYLOR, dau of Lewis and Melinda (FISHER) TAYLOR; d. Dec 16, 1897 in Washington Co., IL. 5. Barthena CROSS b. Aug 21, 1833 in TN; m. George W. BROWN, son of Peyton and Rebecca (ANDERSON) BROWN; d. July 23, 1878 in Washington Co., IL. 6. Sarah CROSS b. May 30, 1834 in IL; m. Marion DEWOODY; d. July 17, 1875 in Perry Co. 7. Thomas Booth CROSS b. Jan 24, 1837 in IL; m. Sophronia Anne (MARLOW) CROSS after her first husband Alvin's death; after Sophronia's death, he married Mary Ann BROWN; d. Nov 29, 1879. 8. William E. CROSS b. April 18, 1842 in IL; m. Sarah C. DUVAL; later m. Martha J. WITCHER; d. July 15, 1926 in Pinckneyville, IL. 9. Unknown CROSS. I am descended from Joshua and Nancy Ann (HUTCHINGS) CROSS. Their son Alvin was my great-grandfather. Alvin b. Aug 27, 1871 married Louisa Elizabeth Katherine SPRENGER near Tamaroa on March 28, 1894. Their chidren were: Frederick Joshua CROSS, Leslie W. CROSS, Blanche Emeline CROSS, Garnet Wanda Louise CROSS, Harry Carl CROSS, and Roy CROSS. I have gathered a lot of info on the CROSS, HUTCHINGS, and MARLOW families I am willing to share.
