I am researching the Bensons of Perry Co. Lewis Benson married Rebecca Eaton there in 1833, and are my gggrandparents. They farmed in the Lost Prairie area until Lewis passed in 1862. Both are interred at Galum Baptist Cemetery. I am looking for the parents of Lewis. Lewis, Rice and Samuel Benson all purchased land at the Kaskaskia land office on Aug. 1, 1838, in addition to other purchases, and all three were born at Bedford Co. in Tennessee. I am searching for JAMES M. WOLF . He was in Perry county in 1870 with wife and children. Wife: LEAR / JANE / LAURA / LEON / LEIR (I've seen her name spelt all these ways) daug: MARGARET A. WOLF ,age 5 yrs daug: LEONA WOLF , age 2 yrs son: BENJAMIN WOLF , born March 13, 1870 I have Never found them on the 1880 Census! LEAR , or, LAURA Wolf married a 2 nd time in Jackson Co., Ill to JOHN W. NEISS , in 1887. So James must have died / Divorced between 1877 & 1887. He may NOT be with them in 1880. So His wife Lear / Laura / Jane , ect. would be listed as head of the household; There were 2 More children born to them (that I know of) daug: MINNIE BELL WOLF , born 1872 daug: BERTIE/ BIRDIA / BRIDIAN WOLF , born 1877 If anyone can help me locate them , or, the wife and children on the 1880 Census (WITH these 2 added children) , OR, JAMES M.
