I'm researching information on my great grandparents: Frederick Jacob GRAF/GRAFF and his wife Lillie Mae KINGCADE/KINCAID. I would like to find out where Fred was born and who his parents were. He was reportedly born in Belleville, St. Clair Co., IL to Allen & Mary GRAF/GRAFF and she in Perry Co. to Thomas & Elizabeth KINGCADE/ KINCAID, but I have no verification of these data. The Illinois Statewide Marriage Index shows Fred & Lillie married in Perry Co. on 12/18/1883. Of course, the 1890 Census is not available! So far, I've found Fred, 'May', and family in the 1900 Perry Co. Census. He is (back) in Belleville without her in 1910 and 1920 according to St. Clair Co. Census. I think that she may have died in 1903 in Perry Co. - I've ordered a copy of the obituary indexed as 'Mrs. Fred GROFF, age 41, Mar 9, 1903'.
