My great great grandfather was Archibald Wilson, Sr., born about 1810 in Scotland. His first son, Archibald Wilson, Jr., was born 1840 in Florida, according to census records. By 1850, the family was in Perry Co. IL. I don't know anything about the Andersons, but I'm thinking they may have arrived in Perry Co. about the same time, so possibly they came together. I don't know if any ships from Scotland ever landed in Florida, but this is the only possibility that makes sense to me for now. I have no idea who Archibald Wilson, Sr.'s wife was, only named Jane, and she was born in Scotland according to census records. Archibald Jr. married Jane Woodward in Perry Co. Both families lived near Duquoin. I will save your Anderson query, and if I ever learn anything about the Wilson's journey from Scotland, I'll let you know.
