Document 1: "State of Illinois, Perry County. Mary Ann Gant being duly sworn deposes and says that Levi Gant late of the County of Perry and State of Illinois, is dead, and that he died on or about the Eleventh day of August A.D. 1860 intestate and that his personal estate will probably amount to $500.00 that said Levi Gant left at the time of his decease Mary Ann Gant his widow, and Sarah Amanda Gant his child." Signed 20 Aug 1860 Mary Ann Gant John W. Pyatt, Clerk (Transcriber's Note: Appraisers of the estate were listed as Aaron Dry, Joseph Hutchison, and Peter Hooey.) Document 2: "An inventory of the monies, notes, and accounts on hand: --- ---- Levi Gant, deceased, made by Mary A. Gant, administratrix of said estate as follows: Cash on hand $16.00 On account on Burton Ellis closed by note, closed by note due 15th of Dec 1860 since death of deceased (Doubtful $4.50 And account on John R. Wardin* closed by note at 4 months. Dated 15th day of Aug 1860, written since death of intestate.
