Doug, If she died in St. Louis and was cremated there then I doubt there would be any record in Perry County, IL of her death. You might find an obit, but I doubt much more. Do you know what happened to her cremated remains? I recently did a search for my great-great-grandmothers sister and found that she had been cremated in St. Louis. She died in 1927 and I found out that her ashes were still in storage and could be claimed by her next of kin for disposition. At some point, not sure when, they will dispose of the ashes themselves if someone doesn't claim them. Interesting moral dilemma for my family, one we are still discussing. Joel, At the time of Catherine's cremation, Joseph purchased a "drawer" at Hillcrest Abbey on Sublette Avenue in St. Louis where her remains along with his and those of his second wife, Anna remain to this day.
