From 1900 on the records are stored at the Perry County Jail Museum in Pinckneyville. Before 1900 they are at the court house annex south of Pinckneyville. I can check this out for you probably next week. Those dates are based on the fact he had lived there for some time when his wife Catherine died in 1910. I'd like to know how to find the real estate records detailing when he moved there and how long he remained. Any suggestions about where I should look? Thank you so much for that offer. One thing I did find online was a record of Joseph's 1905 Personal Property Tax for Township T4 R1 when he paid $11.95. Would there be any backup indicating what the $11.95 covered? Doug Stella Runyon <sarjas@hughes.net> wrote: From 1900 on the records are stored at the Perry County Jail Museum in Pinckneyville. Yes, it would have some information, I don't remember just how much. I'll check the land records while I'm in Pinckneyville next Wednesday. Stella, When did Perry County, Ill. start recording Death Certificates? Mary Lee Davis Marchi
While Catherine lived in Tamaroa, in her illness she was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital (I believe in St. Louis) where she died. She was waked at her daughter's home in Clayton, Missouri and then cremated at Hillcrest Abbey in St. Louis. So I don't think there will be any records of her death in Perry County Illinois.
