I received two responses to contact these individuals, privately. After doing so, I never heard back from them. However, the amount of spam I receive has increased. Are these 2 posters legitimate or using email addresses for spam?

    3. 1. When you have a question about such as Jean's subject below which is a problem with the mail list email the administrator timcasey1@verizon.net. I will try to answer your question or find out the problem. 2. Rootsweb has changed the mail software I have many mail lists so trying to figure the new system may take me awhile. 3. If an email from a spammer does get thru the system usually they try my email address and the Rootsweb Mail list software will catch it, but sometimes it does not. If you click on a link and it sends you to a non genealogy site let me know that it happened and I will block that email address from the list. 4. I can not erase a message posted it will go into the archives, I have no power to change it. 5. If I am the Message Board Administrator I can delete the message if it comes from the message board. 6. IF you do send me an email please use in your subject line PERRY CO IL MAIL LIST PROBLEM. This will get my attention really quick. If you need any help let me know, Jean thank you for the question also I would the email address you sent a email to so I can see if they are subscribers with the new system something may be different in the software. 3. Just wanted to say that, like Jean, I am also a legitimate member of this board. I think this is a good time to remind people that while it's good to be cautious regarding who you are contacting and who you are sharing information with, that for the most part all of us as genealogists are very willing to share information and to correspond with others researching the same families. However, no matter how much we would like to be helpful, sometimes life gets in the way. Personally, I work full time, take bachelor courses at night and teach a Beginner's course in Genealogy at my local teach college. Not to mention raising a family and attempts at having a personal life, so we are not always able to respond as quickly as we would like to. So please be patient with me. I've been on both ends of that, and have had to wait a long time to get a response but eventually it comes around. I would really like to help you Rama, and we should talk because I was looking back at my old saved email and we had corresponded back in 2003. We also have the Bigham's in common. It looks as if I had responded to you at that time but I had never gotten a response back from you. I don't have a ton in my files on Francis but I do have some other Smith information that may be helpful. Can you tell me specifically what you have already and what you are specifically looking for? That would help me respond quicker. If you would like respond to my private email at jonnawanna@yahoo.com or on this board. Thanks!!
