    3. Jo, I checked the records at the county bldg. I found most of the children and John & Mary E. listed as parents. I found the marriage for John and Melissa Kenney. I did not find a marriage for John and Mary E. Before 1916 there was no law said a marriage, death or birth information had to be turned in. A lot of them were turned in but a lot were not. I think it just depended on the authority doing the service, eg. J.P., Doctor, midwife etc. Minnie J.'s delayed birth certificate says "Minnie Florence". John just don't have a death certificate. I have not looked up the obituary yet - even if I had the machine would not have printed a decent copy. They repair man has been called. I will mail the certificate for Browning tomorrow. I requested a death certificate from Pinckneyville for John Shirley TAYLOR, b November 30, 1852, Gibson Co. IN, died DuQuoin, Perry Co,IL, December 12, 1914. I received a note saying "not Found". I've been under the impression that he spent his entire life in DuQuoin. He married Melissa Kinney, Oct 21, 1875 in Perry Co. He married Mary Elizabeth Woodside Aug 21, 1880 in Perry Co. His children are, Cora Mae, Nora (Elnora), Flora, Nettie, John Hardy, Minnie J, Susan E, Sarah E, Thomas Sylvester. Is any of this familiar to anyone? Jo > >______________________________
