    3. F.Y.I About 10 years ago I found a wonderful biography of my greatgrandfather, Charles Weinberg, in "The Combined Hisotry of RANDOLPH, MONROE, and PERRY COUNTIES, ILLINOIS WITH ILLUSTRATIONS DESCRIPTIVE OF THEIR SCENERY AND Biographical Sketches of some of their Prominent Men and Pioneers". It was published by J.L.McDonough & Co, Philadelphia, Corresponding office, Edwardsville, ILL in 1883. This book can be found at the Missouri Historical Society Library, 225 Skinker Blvd, St.Louis,MO. Try <www.mohistory.org> for information about other Perry County, IL books they may have. 1. [ILPERRY] Rare book?
    2. I found another book for sale online that may interest someone: "Echoes from My Heart" by Laura Blackburn Eaton (for $350.00) Here's how the bookseller describes it: "The Henry O. Shepard Company, Chicago Hardcover Very RARE! DuQuoin Illinois. Copyright by author 1900 and title page shows 1900 as well, so this is mostly likely first edition although it is not stated as such. Marvelous old photos as well as art in b&w included within the versus of poetry, some particularly dedicated to events/people of DuQuoin, Illinois. These include an Alumni Poem (read at a reception in honor of the Class of "97,(that would be 1897 !!) DuQuoin High School. Another titled Our Brave and Honored Dead was read at the Decoration Day Exercises in Du Quoin, May 30, 1896 and includes a drawing of a metal inscribed Grand Army Of The Republic - Veteran 1861 - 1866. There is another titled In Memory of Grandpa Fountain and it is followed by a small drawing of a Cavalry soldier standing next to his horse. There are also some photos and drawings of buildings that I believe are from the Du Quion area as well as possible photos of the author"s family members. She is pictured in a frontis piece with tissue protector. Cover of the book has spotting, smudging and some marks. Title is rather faded but binding is still in very good condition. Back of cover has some marks and heavier areas of aging. One page inside has a small tear and chip at top edge of page and a few more have an impression left by a paperclip. I saw one page with some smudging on it, however, text for the most part is in very good condition with no aging to the paper. It is printed on glossy stock, has 74 pages and measures about 9 1/4" x 6" [Chandler, AZ, U.S.A.] " If you're interested, go to http://used.addall.com/ and enter the title or author. Anita
