    1. Re: [ILPERRY] List of "Patrons" in 1876
    2. Actually, I didn't try to view the Perry map -- I was just trying to get the data out on the Perry County Patrons. I just checked a few pages, though. For some reason, Du Quoin is on the Monroe page --- page 140 -- and Pickneyville is on page 148 These maps aren't at a good resolution, though. Is it just my computer ?! I can barely read these! Anita timetraveler@apex2000.net wrote: Thanks for the heads-up regarding the online maps. Unfortunately, the Perry Co. map isn't available in the 1876 atlas because someone at the IU web site put the Saline Co. map on p. 137 which is supposed to be the Perry Co. map. So the Saline Co. is shown twice (on p. 135 and 137) and the Perry Co. map isn't shown at all. I wonder if there is any way they could be contacted about the mistake so that the correct map could be put on p. 137. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILPERRY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    1. Re: [ILPERRY] newspaper question
    2. Jonna, According to the Illinois Newspaper Project, two Perry County papers existed around then: Egyptian Spy (in Tamaroa) and the Perry County Times (both available at Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library) Unfortunately, even though they existed at that time, I don't think that 1861 is available. However, I would email the library to double-check what years they have. Anita Jonna <jonnawanna@yahoo.com> wrote: Anita- Do you know where someone could access early Perry County newspapers?
