    3. I was looking for something in King George County Va. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/va/miscella.htm was the url and I found lots there. (Hurst list there are some of Gwen's files) (Nunn list there is some Wharton wills) but I found many people in my files from all my lines from many states, it could pay off to check it out: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/va/misc/1704va.txt which has the person's last name, given name, their location in 1704 Very interesting. And for the Nunn list, I found no Nunn listings, sorry. Also no Ashford listings. Very educational. Well worth a look. Please pass these two urls on, people you know may find someone there they have been searching for, for many years.

    3. What a great idea! You are so good to try to rescue the pictures. I have four albums of old pictures with no names that I have been trying to identify, all done in late 1800s. Really too bad-sometimes I wonder what is going to happen to these pictures in the days ahead. 3. Hi Bonnie I went to the genforum message 17415 and it was her response to my question about the family in 1850 DeSoto, LA. I am a member of the rootsweb HARRIS-HUNTERS list but I hadn't thought about checking to see if there was one for HARRISS. You might could help me with another question I was planning to post to this list. In 1890 Johnson Harriss's son John wrote the following about his parents and their children: "My mother's name was Ann or Anna Garrett. They lived in that county until 1817, then they moved to the state of Tennessee and settled in Bedford County and lived there two years, and then moved to Franklin County and lived there two years then moved back to Bedford county and lived there until 1829. He moved to Illinois and settled in Perry County and lived there until he died, December 3, 1868. They had born to them twelve children, five boys and seven girls. Their first born was Edward G. Harriss, born Feb. 28, 1798; second Jordan Harriss, born May 7, 1800; third, Sally Harriss born June 26, 1802; fourth, Martha Harriss born Dec. 26, 1804; fifth, Polly Harriss born March 1,1807; sixth, Nancy Harriss born Dec. 16, 1809; seventh, John Harriss born March 3, 1812; eighth, Fanney Harriss born June 16, 1814; ninth, Kiziah Harriss born Nov. 1, 1816; tenth, Betsey Ann Harriss born Feb. 15, 1819; eleventh, Hosea Harriss born Aug. 11, 1822; twelfth, Johnson Harriss born Nov. 11, 1824." He then lists the marriages of the children and for Martha and Nancy he wrote: "Martha Harriss was married to Minyard Gilliam in Franklin County, Tennessee. They had several children born to them. They sold out and moved to Texas where they all live yet. The old man is dead." "Nancy Harriss married Minyard Gilliam in Bedford County, Tennessee, and moved to Illinois in 1828. They had several children born to them." It's said that Minyard who married Martha was Braddock Harris Gilliam's brother. Both of these Minyard Gilliams are the same age in the censuses. Minyard who married Martha was in Franklin County, TN in 1850 and in Smith County, TX in 1860. There is a Robert Gilliam and a Johnson Gilliam who are also said to be Braddock Harris Gilliam's brothers. They are in Perry County, ILL in 1850 and both are in Hopkins County, TX in 1860 where Braddock is. Do you know which one of these Minyard Gilliams is Braddock's brother for sure and how they are related ? 3. Jimmy, I don't have any additional info on this couple's children; but I have been looking. I just posted an email about the Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery today, where Johnson Harriss and some others are buried. We went by there on our way home from Colorado. We live in NC. Husband is a descendant of Johnson and Anna Garrett Harris by Martha Nancy Harriss who married Minyard Gilliam, whose son was Jordan Gilliam married to Nancy Elizabeth Harriss, whose son Moses Cornealius (Neal) Gilliam married Susan J. Davis Qualls whose son Homer was my husband's grandfather. I will keep my eyes open for Carroll. I know I saw a Mahalia Harris or Johnson or Gilliam in the last few days. But mostly my searching has to do with Illinois and not Texas, though I am aware, from research years ago, that some of the crowd ofGilliam, Johnson, Harriss, Garretts, etc went to texas and some went to Illinois and they kept in touch and may have intermarried even with the miles of separation. 3. Edward Garrett Harriss & Polly Morriss had several children born in Franklin Co. TN. They moved to Louisiana where he died. The family moved on to Texas. That is all the information I have. 3. I took some pics of some places in the county recently, mostly of a cemetery in the county. It was the Primitive Baptist out in the "wilderness" on Willow Road. Pics include: the church (outside and inside<thru the window>, the setting, some of the stones (Harriss and Gilliam) though I did notice alot of Haggards there, the street sign located at the church, a placard stating donations accepted for its care, a possible panorama of most of the cemtery. Whom do I send it to?
