Hi, Is there an obit in the DuQuoin Call today for Wilma Lovel who died yesterday, 12/30/99. Unknown where she lived and died. It may have been C'dale.
Hello, I am a new subscriber. Is there someone there who can send me a recent obit? [email protected]
I had the virus Party.exe attach itself to my computer (from where I don't know). If you receive an e-mail from me with this attachment DO NOT open it. I got rid of it but don't want someone else getting it from my machine. Please watch for these new viruses that are floating around. Most older virus scan programs do not catch them. Update your virus program today. T http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~hodges I'm an angel are you? http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/6878/

Being on this list has found so much information that I have added several generations to at least three lines. May you all be so lucky in the future. I am not going anywhere, that I know for the holidays. Drive safely to those brave ones who do. Happy New Year/Millennium Bonnie Wms.

Bill sent this to me when he meant to send it to the entire list. His words are very true. Do NOT open attachments unless you know who they came from and you trust them completely. I have not been opening attachments from very close friends because of fears of hidden problems. Update your virus programs and run them often. Can someone tell me if there is a History of Perry Co. at the library? What other reference books could you suggest for informative reading on early Perry Co? It's difficult to do research but maybe they might be available through inter-library loan, if I had the titles of some. Appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks to all those who responded to my query re: Martha Davis. So far the strongest possibility of a connection is with the Davis family that Nancy is researching. Thanks again and watch future postings, re: Davis's Charles Barber
>I sent this message to Washington County but since most of my Wynn ancestors lived in Perry County I am in hopes that someone in Perry County might be able to help me out. >Is anyone researching the surname Junger? After a visit to the Washington County Court House I discovered that I have problem with the copies of the marriage register that I obtained. I am researching the surname Wynn/Wynne/Winn. I have copies of Samuel Wynn marrying three different times. The first marriage to Martha Lemmons in 1848, The second marriage to Anna Junger in November of 1881 and the third to Melissa D. King Qualls. My problem is this: >PAGE 53 BOOK D ># of License 7 Date of License Jan 25 1882 married November 24, 1881 at Nashville, Illinois >Samuel Wynn of Perry Co. Ill occupation: Farmer Age:55 years Race/Color: white caucasion, Place of Birth:Ohio, parents: Samuel Wynn, McGuire, 2nd marriage > >Bride Anna M.Junger of Dormstadt, Ill Age: 20 years Race/Color: White Caucasion, Place of birth: Illinois, Parents George Junger & Anna M. Altruesberger (sp?), 1st marriage, married at Nashville, Illinois 24 Nov, 1881. > >PAGE 55 BOOK D ># of License 7 Date of License Jan 25 1882, married January 26, 1882 at DuBois, Illinois >Samuel Wynn of Perry Co. Ill occupation: Farmer Age:55 years Race/Color: white caucasion, Place of Birth:Ohio, parents: Samuel Wynn, McGuire, 2nd marriage > >Bride Melissa D. King Qualls, DuBois, Illinois, Age: 36 years Race/Color: White/Caucasion, Place of Birth:N. Carolina, Parents: John Qualls & Elizabeth R???don, 2nd marriage > >If you will notice the Grooms information is identical for both marriages, but, the Brides information is different. Also the Date of issue for the license is after the marriage of Samuel to Anna Junger. I have also noticed that all information is identical on both sheets for all Grooms listed along with Samuel. I believe that Samuel did not marry Anna Junger. That some how duplicate informations was recorded. Since the index to the records also showed Samuel marrying both Anna & Melissa, I know the clerk didn't just copy the wrong page. > >I would like to find out who Anna Junger actually married. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. > >Debbie Wynn Martin
I am also seeking a DAVIS family that originally came from Virginia and settled in Illinois. My great-great-grandmother was MARTHA DAVIS who was born in Virginia in 1810. She married John Lewis on Nov.26, 1829 supposedly in Bedford County, Tennessee. John Lewis was born 1805 in South Carolina. They settled in Randolph or Perry Co., Illinois and had 14 children. My great-grandmother was the 5th child. Her name was Lucivia Frances Lewis. John Davis & Martha Davis Lewis are buried in Union Cemetery, 2 miles south of Sparta, Illinois. He died in 1883 and she in 1881. Could MARTHA be one of the missing children of the family Nancy Helvey is researching? Or does anyone else have any information on these people? Thanks for any help.
