    1. [ILPERRY] WYMAN Family, Du Quoin, IL
    2. McTeer
    3. Seeking information about the Wyman family. Do not know when they arrived or how long they were there. Abraham immigrated from Poland. First married Betty Koplowitz. When she died supposedly Abraham returned to Poland and married her sister, Harriet. There were at least three children: Eugene Lester (1924-1973), Dr. Milford, and Dr. Melvin. Eugene attended Northwestern and Havard before settling in the Los Angeles area where he was a prominent lawyer and chairman, California democratic party. If family members are still present in the area, would appreciate contacting them. Thanks, H. Michael McTeer HC01-Box 2181A 29 Palms, CA 92277

    1. [ILPERRY] Save Cemeteries
    2. Robert J. Middleton
    3. Hi All: Please check this out re: "save the old cemeteries" An on-line petition is available at: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/sg0001/petition.html While the petition is set to go active on July 4th and run until October 1st, it has already been signed and is working well. Very soon there will be a petition available to print off and carry with you to get hard copy signatures. Genealogy Society meetings & parents of Boy Scouts who work on cemeteries for badges are just a couple of groups that would be good places to start. We are hoping to have it available very soon. When the necessary work is completed, that petition will be available at: http://www.savinggraves.com/petition/index.htm The following message is available from the on-line petition to help spread the word about the petition. You will receive the cut-and-paste message in a confirmation letter after you sign the on-line petition. Remember, don't sign the on-line petition AND the hard copy petition. The less duplicate signatures, the better our chances of getting a legitimate petition to the law making bodies. .............................................................................. ........................................................... Dear Friends, I have just read and signed the online petition: "National Cemetery Protection Act" hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition service, at: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/sg0001/petition.html I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself. Best wishes, Robert J. 1. [ILPERRY] Sacred Heart Cemetery
    2. I am trying to locate information on burials in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, DuQuoin. A letter to the church in March has gone unanswered. Has this cemetery ever been copied? Is there anyone willing to check their records for me? I am looking for Owen and Hannah Reddington who lived in St. John in 1880. I do not find them after the census. Their daughter, Hannah Cecelia Reddington Rogers, is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. I thought maybe they were buried there as well. Would certainly appreciate any help. Sandra S. Shellhammer
