Hi List, Anyone working on the Holman/Holeman family and the West family (some members had connections to the Ragland family) from Perry Co. IL in the 1800s? These families were in the 1840-1900 censuses. Did the Holmans originally come from VA?? I have a marriage between Isaac Holman and Polly Kaho (Mayo?) in 1815 in Washington CO. VA. There is also a Jane Kaho (Mayo) who married a Samuel Hanson in 1805 in Washington CO. VA. Nancy Helvey Researching Helvey, Davis, Viers, Fulton, Hillen

My grandfather, John Quincy Adams, had a brother by the name of Roy Adams. John and Roy were both born in Union County, IL, but John Quincy married Myrtle Adams of DuQuoin, IL, and after his marriage, lived in DuQuoin. >From what I understand, Roy lived in DuQuoin or the outlying area, also. I don't know when he actually moved to DuQuoin, but I'm pretty certain he lived there. John Quincy died in a freak accident in 1929, but I do believe that Roy was still living in the 1960's and possibly the 1970's. Has anyone ever heard of Roy Adams or who he was married to? Any old phone directories out there that he might be listed in? I have a cousin who remembers visiting him(possibly on a farm) in the 60's or 70's. He was quite elderly at the time. Any clues?
