Hi List, Is anyone doing the Reisinger family of Perry CO. ca. 1870-1900?? George Reisinger married Catherine Viers on November 24, 1854 in Gallia CO. OH. They had at least one child named Samantha (1860 Perry CO. census) who married Peter Arnett on Aug. 13, 1876 in Perry CO. Thanks, Nancy Helvey
Hi, Nancy, have you seen, RECORD of SERVICES, ILLINOIS SOLDERS, in the BLACKHAWK WAR 1831-32 and in the MEXICAN WAR 1846-48 and with appendix, War of 1812. This is a complete roster of officers and men of both wars taken from the official rolls on file in the war department, Washing D.C. This book was prepared and published by authority of the Thirty Second General Assembly by Issac H. Elliott, adjuntant general of the state of Illinois. I was able to get it on loan through my county library through the inter- library network. The book was an original printing and was in very poor condition, but they let it out to me anyway, hope you have as good luck as I did. The information contained in the book is worthwhile to anyone with roots in early Illinois Territory. Let me know if you fail to get this book through your library. Charles Barber [email protected]
I am researching the William and Malinda Harrison family who were in Perry Co. Il. census 1850 thru 1870. Thanks, Edna Franklin
Think I better just give up. Trying to keep from hitting the send button this morning is proving to be as hard as finding my ancestors.: ) I am also searching for info on Jasper THOMAS, he was born in 1847 m. Nancy J. COOPER IN 1869 in Perry Co, IL. Have conflicting info that Jasper was b. in IN. On my father (Albert Desper THOMAS) death cert . , it states his father Jasper was born in Penn. so am searching both. Jasper and Nancy are both buried in Swanwick cemetary. as are several of the children, Jasper Thomas had a brother Jacob THOMAS b. 1837, maybe b. in IN. maybe ??? He married ELizabeth J. SMITH b. 1849., in Perry Co, IL in 1869. As large as the THomas, Smith, Cooper families were there should be some info somewhere. They lived in the Perry CO area for years and some of family is still in area. Anyone with any info no matter how small, it would be appreciated. Thank you NaDean
OOPS!! Sent previous message before I was finished. Children of Hugh COOPER and Elizabeth DESPER COOPER, were: Sarah age 8 on 1850 Perry Co, IL census Mary J age 2 ( her name is actually supposed to be Nancy J. (she is my gmother and is listed on 1860 IL census as Nancy J. and on her marriage license and we know that to be her name. John age 3 mo. On the 1860 IL census there are additional children: Mary E. age 8 Albert J.age 5 Mary H.age 3 William S. age 7 months. Don't know if first Mary E. died but believe maybe my ggma THOMAS may have been named Mary.
IS there anyone researching the name DESPER, I haven't seen it but have reason to believe my ggmother Elizabeth COOPER was a DESPER. b. about 1824, (KY) Also looking for info on Hugh COOPER, b. 1824-? (SC) Their children were born in IL and are on the 1850 IL census for Perry CO.

LANE, John Daniel/Barelow supposedly from Tamaroa, Perry County, Illinois. Served with the Missouri Volunteer Militia Civil War. Worked as a foreman for Carter's Mill, and died early in 1890. Was buried by the new school house being built for Carterville. I do not know what state this mill and schoolhouse are located in. His wife moved back to Uniontown, Bourbon County, Kansas after his death and died in 1893. Looking for his parents, place of birth, place of death and burial. I have his military records. He married Elizabeth Suphronia KIRBY sometimes her first names are listed opposite this. Mary Lee Davis Marchi Your listing on the internet was of interest because both my husband and I have Davis families in our genealogies. His is in Perry County, Illinois and mine in St.Francois County, Missouri. Do you have a Martha Davis Popejoy or just a Martha Davis in Perry of Randolph County, Ill? My Davis' are all descendants of Luke Davis & Artimissia Cunningham in Missouri. C & L Barber
