ok, I'm thinking out loud here I need to bounce this off of someone if you have any ideas please e-mail me ok I have this John L EAGLE born 1820 in Gallia Co, OH he married Racheal FEE born about 1824 Gallia Co, OH the marry in Gallia start having kids and sell their land in Gallia in 1848 in 1850 I find them with 3 children in Auglaize Co, OH 1 son is living with grandson FEE in Gallia Co in 1852 they sell their land there they don't show up in the census in Auglaize or Gallia at this point I have no idea where they are I know from a history of Gallia Co that John L. EAGLE was dead by 1882 it lists with his mother that by 1882 she had 2 sons living and 2 sons dead in the mean time their daughter Mary Ladica marries Levi HUGHES in Gallia she has one daughter that lives to be an adult on her death certificate it indicates she was born in Gallia about 1861 at some point (not yet determined) Mary & Levi HUGHES end up in Perry Co, IL in 1878 George Washington EAGLE her brother ends up in Saunders Co, NE-his son told his daughter that George had a falling out with his family and never talked about him except a sister he had that had a daughter in 1900 sister Ellen EAGLE shows up in Perry Co census and marries a widow in 1904 she was about 59 when she married in 1900 brother William Henry EAGLE single shows up in Perry Co census in 1910 he's living with the widow Mary EAGLE HUGHES only Mary, Levi & their daughter show up in the 1880 census cds from the Morman's I just don't know where else to look I've looked for John in the civil war but didn't find anyone that seemed to be him I've considered checking state censuses if there's a man missing in 1852 how do you look for him? thanks, Debbie

Hi all, I have recently subscribed to this list and thought perhaps it was time to ask for some help. I began researching the ELDRIDGE family line about a year ago (Yes - Im fairly new to genealogy as well) and have hit some dead-ends. Any help or leads you all can give would be greatly appreciated. Robert ELDRIDGE was born in TN in Nov. 1849. In Nov. 1871, he married Catherine HILL in St.Clair County, IL. (In-between, we dont know where he was). At some point after his marriage, he moved to Perry County where he lived the rest of his life. Robert and Catherine had 10 children (Nancy Parthenia,George Samuel, Ada Diane, Jonathan Elza, Lottattie,Millard Jesse, Robert Spencer, Mirza Duane,Clarence Glen (my grandfather), and Vera Velina) I have many of the descendants of Robert and Catherine but am looking for brothers/sisters/parents of them both as well as any other info/stories anyone has on the Eldridges in Perry County. I do know that Catherine's parents died while she was young and that she was raised by a guardian but do not know how they died, when, where or who they were. I noticed in the 1900 census that there are several ELDRIDGES listed in Perry County...I don't know how or if they are related to my line but a few were born in TN or had parents born in TN which we also know to be true of Robert so perhaps they are related?. To all, I believe I have found my great great grandpas sister. We have been looking for her for years. Her name in the census was Ladicia EAGLE. We have assumed she married Levi HUGHES in Gallia Co, OH. A Mary L. HUGHES was the informant on my g-g-grandpas brothers death certificate in Perry Co, IL. I found Levi HUGHES (VA-born 1838), Mary HUGHES (OH-born 1844) and Ellen HUGHES (OH-born 1861) on page 112B of the 1880 Perry Co, IL census. I need to know more about this family. To all, Mary L. HUGHES was the informant on the death certificate of William Henry L. EAGLE in 1916. He was buried on a county farm. I think Mary was William's sister. She may have married Levi HUGHES in Gallia Co, OH. I have no information on her after the marriage. Jon, I am related to Kyle Onstott through his grandmother, Ann Wells, who was a sister to my ggg-grandmother, Jane Wells. According to the information I have, Ann Wells married Elihu Onstott on 30 Jan 1840 in Perry Co., IL. Ann was born 15 Feb 1822 in Illinois. Elihu was born 21 Mar 1816 in Indiana. They had several children. One of them was Donald Morrison Onstott, who was born 11 Mar 1850 in Perry Co., IL. He married Barbara Pyle, (who was born about 1847), on 5 Apr 1877 in Madison Co., IL . As you found previously, Barbara was first married to Andrew Pyle on 16 Mar 1864 in Perry Co., IL. Donald and Barbara were the parents of Kyle Onstott.
