    1. [ILPEORIA-L] Hines School History
    2. Murray Hines
    3. I have a copy of a poem written by Everett Hines, son of John Hines and Laura (Corrington) Hines that chronicles the history of the Hines School in Peoria from its beginning in 1840 through the Centennial celebration in 1940. The school was originally located on the John Hines farm, along Dry Run Creek, Richwoods Township. The Hines School is still operating today, and is located at 4603 N. Knoxville Ave., in Peoria. The poem talks about many of the students and teachers through the 100 years, and could be of interest to fellow genealogists. I am reluctant to post the whole poem on the list, due to its length, but would be happy to share it with anyone interested. I have it in MS Word format, and can send it as an attachment to an e-mail to you. Please reply to my e-mail address rather than tying up the entire list, and I will send it to you. If your e-mail does not handle attachments, I could also mail you a copy via snail mail. Any one with information about this Everett Hines, or John Hines, I would like to hear from.
