There are some existing City Directories (for what years I do not know) which cover Brimfield in the possession of the Special Collections section of Bradley Univ. Library in Peoria IL. This might - being an annual publication - have some info on your ancestors. There are two nice ladies working up in that department (I am in the middle of a move and do not have ready access to this info) who might be able to do a search for you.
