I don't know if this is yours, but I found the following in the Clark J. Herringshaw's City Blue Book of Biography, c. 1914, for Chicago: Metcalf, Edwin Styles, Attorney-at-Law of 155 North Clark Street, was born March 25, 1843, in Washington, Vt. He was director of the Salem Conservatory of Music, in Boston, Mass. He is now engaged in the general practice of law in Chicago. There are also the following Metcalf folks listed: Herbert Cushman Metcalf, Merton Pennell Metcalf, and Walter B. Metcalf. Let me know if you think any of these are yours. Hope this helps.
