FARMINGTON OR TRIVOLI (now in Peoria County) Benjamin Williams Crane and his wife Charlotte Littell were two of the first settlers (along with the Samuel Clark family at Fort Clark in Peoria County. Charlotte died 23 July 1883 in Farmington, Fulton County, Illinois. Elizabeth "Betsy" (Williams) CRANE (my ancestor) lived with them in 1850 and after. I would also be interested in learning the name of the wife of Samuel Clark. I have a strong suspicion that she may be another family member. Does anyone on the list have cemetery or obituary information for Crane families who may be buried in Farmington or the Trivoli area? Betsy's husband, Stephen Crane had died in 1837 and probably never made it to Fort Clark. Thanks again for any help. Benjamin & Charlotte Crane may even have had obituaries, which would be fantastic.
