I would like to see if anyone on this list has ancestors who settled in Peoria and were from County Kilkenny Ireland. I have searched and searched and have been unsuccessful (so far) at learning where my ggg-grandparents, James H. and Alice Reed Murphy came from in Kilkenny. I thought perhaps we could learn of some patterns of place names if we pooled our efforts. Sue Fritz

G-grandmother Bridget Weston or (Waston) born in Kilkenny around 1843. She married Patrick Killeen and on the 1870 census they lived in Wyoming (Stark Co.) IL After that they lived in Brimfield. ggg-grandfather was "Darby" Murphy born in Ireland but don't know where. His first wife died in Ohio and he married Mary Ellen Ryan. Other family members in the area under the names of Ryan, Carigan (or Carrigan) and Doubet. They resided in Brimfield in the 1850s. 1850 census list a James Murphy born in Ireland (age 30) Six children William, Mary, Ester, Catherine, Margaret and a name I can't read. Doesn't seem to be a wife listed. They resided in Peoria.
