Thanks Big Question I have: I have many surnames, I know lived in Peoria Co. (Immigrated to US in 1856, married 1858, 1859. Could NOT find them in indexes for 1860, 1870, 1880. 1890 doesn't exist, I understand. Finally found one in 1900 census. I believe some were coal miners. Does anyone know why these families would be missed for so many years.
