Sometime back on one of the mailing list, someone made a suggestion on ordering your ancestors marriage records. It had something to do with not ordering marriage certificates but ordering the APPLICATION FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE (?) from the county as the application contained more family data. Do I understand the above correctly? And, if so, what is the correct terminology to use when ordering such applications? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the marriage certificates I am getting from the counties do not contain any family data at all. Thanks, Marie in Illinois
