I have a Joseph P. DAVIES 1884-1948, in Brown Co., IN., who changed his name to DAVIS. He married Gertie TURPEN July 1898, and Minnie FRYE Feb. 1905. Children born between 1898 and 1909 from the two wifes were: Mintha Mae W. *(date on his gravestone--buried beside Gertie--is Apr. 30, 1898) Isaiah Joseph Alvin Nellie L. Milo I. W. Davis gravestone date is "before" Joseph's first marriage to Gertie. Milo was last one listed--born in ca. 1909--there may have been more children later. I wonder if these children's children might have had a John.
