I have a small book which consists of four volumes regarding the History of Princeville by the Old Settlers Society. I believe there may be some information in it regarding the White family. My ancestor, Basilius German, was a resident of Princeville, however at one time he resided just north of Princeville in Stark Co. Princeville itself is in Peoria Co. This book also has the cemetery inscriptions copied in it for Princeville for the town cemetery and the Catholic cemetery. These inscriptions, however, are not up to date. I will take a look at the book this week. If you already have the information from this, please do let me know. ----- Original Message ----- From: "IRIS L M MILLER" <irislm@kc.rr.com> To: <ILPEORIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 08, 2003 12:15 PM Subject: [ILPEORIA-L] Re: Peoria County Families History > John Thank! > I know a lot of the information at FamilySearch is not correct, > A person out side of our family took it upon himself to put our family > information at FamilySearch.com and quite a bit of the information is > incorrect. one of many things > he has them living Princeville, Stark County, Illinois???, > I just wanted to be sure if my family lived in Peoria or Starke County, > The H.J.L.McKown and Hugh White Families (White Grove)went to Princeville to > live in 1831 and The Joseph Mendell Family in 1836. I also have those 4 volumes about Princeville in Peoria County that Iris is talking about. My family the Slanes have lived there since the 1840s to the present. There are also quite a few of us living in Peoria. I can do lookups also and I have a scanner so I can scan and send family histories if anyone needs them. Regarding the Princeville cemeteries, the Peoria library has listings for both cemeteries that are good through the 1960s or 1970s I believe. If anyone is doing research that involves families from Princeville, be aware that there is a museum there that has a pretty good collection of books, clippings, photos, etc. It's a small scale operation so you would have to go there in person to do research though. mel slane peoria, il ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandra Weber" <marana@charter.net> To: <ILPEORIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 09, 2003 10:56 PM Subject: [ILPEORIA-L] Princeville > I have a small book which consists of four volumes regarding the History of > Princeville by the Old Settlers Society.
